Lou Dean
My mother left our Oklahoma farm when I was in first grade. I used to sit on the steps of our one-room schoolhouse with my dog and read for hours during recess and after school. Books first offered me an escape from my chaotic world and later security and comfort, which is why I began to write. Writing has given my life meaning and focus for four decades. I am the author of eight books and countless articles in major magazines. I am a twenty-year Colorado Authors’ League member.
