Jonathan R. Adler (CEO) and Michael Adler (V.P. Creative) are partners in AET-Grey Eagle Development, LLC – both production company’s dedicated to adapting Warren Adler’s vast library of 56 novels, numerous plays and 100 short stories into entertainment for all media including film, television, live stage and podcasts – domestic and international.

In addition to the film remake, AET is co-producing a new live stage version of The War of the Roses (adapted by acclaimed writer,  Peter Tolan, scheduled to premiere in London’s West End in 2026. Some of the current projects in active development include: The Children of the Roses, The Untitled Fiona Fitzgerald Detective Series (based on the 8 book series), Target Churchill/Mission Churchill, Little Black Dress, Torture Man, The Third Door (starring and co-produced by Anna Camp), Residue (written and directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall), Funny Boys, Flanagan’s Pursuit (based on the two book series), Never too Late for Love (a short story collection that inspired the PBS American Playhouse trilogy called The Sunset Gang, that garnered Doris Roberts an Emmy nomination), Random Hearts (previously adapted into the 1999 feature starring Harrison Ford and Kristen Scott Thomas) now being developed as a TV series, and Trans Siberian Express and Trans Mongolian Express.

Exclusively developing/producing, Warren Adler’s 53 novels  plus d newly published (Jan 2024) historical fiction prequel and sequel novels called The Trans Mongolian Express, Flanagan’s Dolls, Flanagan’s Strings and Mission Churchill, another new new  Novel coming in September 2025 called Nobodies,  originally written by Warren Adler and recently updated by Shannon McKenna,  Little Black Dress Novel also to be an update of Warren Adler’s  Mourning Glory,  five plays and over 100 short stories for film, television, live stage, podcasts, gaming and other new media both domestically and for international audiences.

Exciting News: The War of the Roses Returns in 2025 with Major Film, Book, and Stage Events We’re thrilled to announce that The War of the Roses is making a triumphant return to center stage—across film, books, and theater—cementing Warren Adler’s classic dark comedy as a timeless cultural touchstone. Searchlight Pictures’ new feature film adaptation, The Roses, the first  of a first-look deal between AET and Searchlight is set for worldwide theatrical release on August 29, 2025. Directed by Jay Roach and written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Tony McNamara (The Favourite, Poor Things), this reimagining stars Oscar-winners Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch as Ivy and Theo Rose, a seemingly perfect power couple whose marriage spectacularly unravels in the most deliciously diabolical way. The all-star cast also includes Kate McKinnon, Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao, and Belinda Bromilow. To celebrate the release, the original novel The War of the Roses will be re-published worldwide in summer 2025 with an all-new cover. This new edition offers a chance for longtime fans and new readers alike to experience the brilliant, biting satire that started it all.
